Hanseatica is sponsoring La Aguada in the 2026 Argentine Triple Crown
The insurance company, a leader in international trade insurance, and the historic polo team have formed a strategic partnership for the 2026 season, reaffirming their commitment to high-performance sports.
Buenos Aires, July 2026. Hanseatica, a company specializing in insurance for international trade and logistics risk prevention, announces that it has become a sponsor of La Aguada Polo Team for the 2026 season of the Argentine Triple Crown, the most prestigious polo circuit in the world, which will take place between September 22 and December 12, featuring the traditional Hurlingham, Tortugas, and Palermo Opens.
Through this partnership, Hanseatica is supporting one of the most iconic teams in Argentine polo, which will compete in a new edition of the Triple Crown with a roster featuring Bautista Bayugar, Alfredo Bigatti, Joaquín “Joaco” Pittaluga, and Iñaki Laprida—a lineup that combines talent, experience, and potential to compete on the biggest stage in international polo.
Founded on the legacy of the Novillo Astrada family, La Aguada is an undisputed leader in high-handicap polo. Since the 1970s, the Novillo Astrada family has been at the forefront of major tournaments in Argentina and around the world, establishing itself as one of the most influential families in the history of the sport.
The team’s history in the Triple Crown began in the 1980s with Eduardo “Taio” Novillo Astrada. In 1986, the team won its first title by claiming the Hurlingham Open championship, and in 2003, it achieved a historic milestone by winning the Triple Crown with Eduardo, Miguel, Javier, and Ignacio Novillo Astrada, who completed an undefeated 11-game season. To this day, La Aguada remains the only team composed of four brothers to have won the Triple Crown, the highest achievement in world polo.
Throughout their career, the Novillo Astrada brothers also won some of the most prestigious titles on the international circuit, including the USPA Gold Cup, the US Open, the Queen’s Cup and the British Open, distinguishing themselves not only through their athletic achievements but also through the professionalism and values that have defined the team throughout its history.
For Hanseatica, this sponsorship represents the continuation of a commitment to Argentine polo that began in 2017. Since then, the company has supported the sport because it shares the values that also guide its business: trust, strategy, discipline, teamwork, and the constant pursuit of excellence.
“Since 2017, we have supported Argentine polo because we believe in its tradition, its high standards, and its ability to inspire excellence. Today, we are proud to partner with La Aguada, a team with a unique history and a legacy that transcends generations. We share the same approach to high performance: through preparation, commitment, and a long-term vision.”said Guido Bottin, Chief Operating Officer at Hanseatica.
Through this partnership, Hanseatica reaffirms its commitment to high-performance sports and strengthens its ties to a discipline that embodies leadership, precision, and excellence—values that also define its mission to protect the international trade operations of companies throughout Latin America.
